Empowering the Next Generation of Houston Musicians
We believe that music is the soul of Houston. By helping to fund scholarships and community support, we ensure that every talented student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Legacy of Ray Gonzalez
Ray Gonzalez was one of Houston’s most respected and versatile reed doublers. A fixture in the city’s music scene for over two decades, you might have heard him in the pits with Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS), performing with the Houston Jazz Orchestra, or the occasional stint with the Houston Symphony. From community theatre productions to full orchestral and jazz ensembles, Ray’s artistry, professionalism, and warm presence were a constant in Houston’s musical landscape.
Equally passionate about education, Ray was a dedicated private instructor across Conroe, Klein, Spring, and Tomball ISDs. His students not only excelled and consistently reached high accolades under his tutelage, but have also held respectable young professional careers of their own. His teaching reflected his deep commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians with the same excellence and care that defined his own career.
Through the Ray Gonzalez Memorial Scholarship, his legacy of musical excellence and mentorship lives on, supporting young musicians who share his passion and dedication.
